#FridayFotoFiction Prompt Sep 22-27
Life is Set – Fiction Writing #FridayFotoFIction
They said, get admission in the top engineering college, your life will be set.
They said get into the Top B School, your life will be set.
After getting selected in one of the top finance brands, they said, your life is set.
Last five years I have given every single minute of my time to this company.
So what I did that?
How is my life set?
Yes I have a fat paycheck, but how does it make my life set?
Who am I today? A guy, surrounded by numbers and statistics?
I don’t remember when I was happy, last time! Happy from within.
I haven’t touched my guitar in last seven years. I haven’t had the time to visit my hometown in last three years, I couldn’t be with my family in festivals or functions in such a long time.
Is this how your life becomes set?

The question on every young mind these days. Loved your take on the prompt, Tina.
This is so true for today’s generation. They say life is set, but is this what they call life?? Very well written Tina!
A pressure that each of the generations go through I guess, where many accept it as a way of life but many suffer as to why they need to live this way. Something to talk about for sure.
Sounds like what’s on everyone’s mind who works in a corporate set up. Very well written Tina.
Bang on Tina. You have spoken on everyone’s behalf. We are all so busy earning money that we have forgotten about being happy. Loved your take on the prompt.
Feels like we have spent an eternity and no close to the answer to this. Good one.
The sad reality of those who forget to live life and get stuck in the corporate grind- alas they realise it too late
Happy Durga Pujo Tina!
Chasing the dreams in life is like mirage. One needs to have a strong resolution to stick to the idea of happiness. Can money buy stability… not 100% true!
So very thought provoking take!

I just came here to drop my link and saw that we have the exact same story 🙁
[…] piece of fiction is in response to Friday Foto Fiction hosted by Tina and […]
The question which you have brought up through the prompt is the need of the hour. All of us need to think if it’s just numbers, statistics, and money comprises for our happiness. your story reminded me of Hrithik Roshan’s character in ZNMD. So many of us are just running the rat race without even pausing for a second to realize what we really want. An amazing take on the prompt. 🙂
The way of our times, sadly. The world is turning materialistic and everyone is hell-bent on pursuit of things such things that do not matter in the long run. A visceral story. Well done.
Absolutely today’s gen is all about a mad race. Keep running from this post to another… bang on take Tina
Hi Tina! Really loved your take on this prompt. The title and the relatable storyline. ´Life is set´:) Keep writing! Love and Cheers!
This is so relatable. The everyday thought of almost every everyday person.
