#1 Yoast SEO
You don’t understand SEO but want to work on your blog’s SEO? Install Yoast SEO today. The free version of Yoast SEO is more than enough. It will help you submit your sites on webmasters, setup site-maps, add keywords, optimize snippets, and even social media sharing cards!
If you want to add more keywords then you will need the Yoast Pro, but start off with the free version.
It is super easy to use.
#2 Lazy Load – WP Rocket
We do put it lots of images on our sites, right? And you should too. Both of my blogs are image-heavy and my audience likes the images. Images make site loading slow. To solve that problem, get the Lazy Load WP Rocket plugin.
Google loves fast loading pages.
Lazy loading will load the page faster so that the reader can scroll through while the images keep coming up – lazy load!
#3 Smush
Talking of images taking up a lot of space, optimize them by using Smush by WBMU Dev. This is an image optimization plugin that optimizes your site’s images automatically anytime you upload a new image in your Media Library.
#4 W3 Total Cache
Another one of the best free WordPress plugins is W3 Total Cache. This is a caching plugin that helps you making your site faster.
#5 Shareaholic
If you don’t have sharing buttons in at least 2-3 places around your blog post – how will your audience share your content? Make sharing it easier with Shareaholic and try to embed your handles in it so that you are notified!
#6 Elementor Website Builder
If your theme allows Elementor builder, please get this. I have designed my site with Elementor. I have used Elementor Pro because it gave me a lot of power. But the Free version is great too.

Like using photos and slide shows in your posts? Get Envira Gallery that creates responsive photo and video galleries for you. You can just drag and drop the gallery builder.
P.S. – If you have Elementor, you wouldn’t need this. If you only want to work on photo galleries, get this one.

One of the best free WordPress plugins is Broken Link Checker. Links are a big part of your SEO. You should always include internal and external links in your posts. But broken links hurts your site. This plugin monitors and notifies you of broken links on your blog.
#9 Editorial Calendar
If you take your content marketing strategy seriously you gotta use this. This is a calendar for your posts. With Editorial Calendar you can make sure posts are getting published on time. You can drag and drop posts, reorganize and even manage posts with multiple authors.
#10 UpdraftPlus
If you are not the one to take regular backup of your site from the cPanel – you need UpdraftPlus. This is a free auto-backup option that does automatic backup and uploads it on cloud – like your Dropbox, Google Drive etc.
