by tinabasu April 25, 2018
written by tinabasu

Pregnancy Care – A woman’s body becomes very delicate and tender during pregnancy. It’s normal to feel tiredness and weakness. Listen to the symptoms of your body.

Pregnancy is a beautiful time in every woman’s life. It not just is a physical transformation, but an emotional journey too. Pregnancy is a period when utmost care to the physical and mental health must be given top priority. A woman’s body becomes delicate and tender during pregnancy and you can clearly see the differences. Pregnancy care is important for physical and mental well-being.

pregnancy care

It is very normal of to feel tiredness and weakness during this period especially during the first trimester and the third trimester as our body undergoes a lot of changes. The physical changes affect the regular metabolism of the body and forces you to be in the tired state. This is very much normal as long you don’t feel uncomforting and don’t have trouble in breathing.

Pregnancy Care – First Trimester Care

During the first trimester, the body prepares itself to adapt to the changes that will follow. A woman’s body works very hard to get the strength to support the life that is growing inside. The doctor will keep a check on your anaemia, blood pressure, sugar levels during your regular pregnancy checks. During one of the visits to for regular check-ups in a maternity hospital in Bangalore, my doctor suggested me high vitamin and protein food. We reduced the intake of chemical supplements and she advised to go all natural. I think this is one of the best advice I got during the first trimester. I was also visiting a nutritionist who provided me with the best list of food for my intake. All these things helped me in building a better immune system and I hardly felt the need for medical supplements for energy. I split my daily meal into 5 meals and it included a lot of fruits, nuts, fish, and egg. I took folic acids as a supplement.

Pregnancy Care – Third Trimester Care

Your tenderness and fatigue can last until your third trimester. TThe third trimester is when you need a lot of rest and care. Some of the symptoms that you may be experiencing is vomiting, continued morning sickness, mood swings, loss of appetite, change in tastes, nausea and fatigue. These symptoms occur to most women during their pregnancy cycle and hence it is completely alright to have these symptoms, so don’t feel alone in this. Exercise, good diet, rest and breathing practice – are all important during the third trimester.

Coping with Pregnancy changes

It could be challenging to cope with the rapid changes of the body but it is always important to understand the phase at which we can cope. Always listen to the symptoms your body shows, these are the things your body wants to tell you.

Pregnancy Care – What can you do?

Rest – Power Nap

Plenty of rest is important throughout pregnancy. Even if you are a working woman, a power nap for 15 to 30 minutes will help you relax and give you the much-needed rest. Change your schedule accordingly. Most of the corporate organizations have a flexible policy for the pregnant women.

Food – Healthy Balanced Diet

Food is the medicine here. Eat organic food and avoid adulterated or processed food. This will make you sick. Well-cooked protein food helps your pregnancy. Avoid undercooked eggs or raw food – even Sushi – for a healthy pregnancy diet.

pregnancy care

Emotional Well Being

Keep yourself focused towards your delivery and cheer yourself up. Most of the time a pregnant woman will be spending time all by herself. Evening walks, family get-together, some yoga, and exercise should do the job of keeping you active and healthy. Some of the maternity hospital in mumbai provide pre-natal and post-natal classes. Join them for a good pregnancy care.

A proper pregnancy care will see you through a healthy pregnancy. Pregnancy is a pretty cool phase because you are meant to pamper yourself.

Decoding Secondary Infertility – Why is it difficult to get pregnant the second time?

by tinabasu April 24, 2018
written by tinabasu

Secondary infertility is a common phenomenon among married couples. But what causes secondary infertility?

Most of us are aware of the fact, infertility can occur in both males and females which make conception difficult. Infertility is a very common phenomenon which you realize mostly when you are trying to conceive but it does not happen. While you can detect the causes of fertility, secondary infertility becomes tricky. But what is this secondary infertility? Not many are aware of secondary infertility or its causes. During a regular market research activities at a fertility center in Mumbai, it was found that it’s a rising factor among married couples which is now spreading like wildfire.

secondary infertility

Decoding Secondary Infertility

When a couple who already have a child are planning for a second one but finds it difficult to conceive – this phenomenon is termed as secondary infertility. To simplify it, poor fertility health in the later stages of life after having the first child is called secondary infertility.

This is an emotionally painful time as it comes as a shock when we do not expect this. We are under the perception when the first child is born, the factor of infertility is ruled out. But in reality, it is not. Let us now briefly look into the causes of secondary infertility.

secondary infertility

Secondary Infertility – what causes it?

Secondary infertility is caused due to the following:

  1. Polycystic ovarian disorders are very common in older women than younger women. These ovulation disorders can be genetic or even acquired. These are mostly caused by lifestyle and genetic disorders. PCOD and PCOS is so common that one statistic says that 1 in 5 women in India are affected by this. So, if you are the one who is affected then we have to tell you that you are not alone.
  2. Endometriosis or damage to the fallopian tubes which causes blockage and hence can cause infertility.
  3. Other STDs and PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) also cause infertility
  4. Age is another major factor which can cause infertility in both male and female since infertility and age are closely related. Fertility health declines as age increases.

As you can see, most of the reasons for secondary infertility are caused due to age, it is very important to know your fertility quotient before we plan our other things in life. Age can also increase the chances of infertility in both male and female. Miscarriages are more common in older women. Uterus becomes weaker as we grow old. Males are also equally prone to infertility. Fertility clinic in Pune, Mumbai, Delhi and other metros have advanced fertility screening which helps couples to identify the causes of infertility and take precise treatment. There are wide ranges of treatment options that are available for both male and female infertility. Some of the well-known names are IVF, IUI, ICSI, time lapsed monitoring, laser assisted hatching and other artificial insemination technologies.

As bloggers, we stay glued to our laptops, mobiles and well laptops. We definitely forget, to move more and take care of our weight. Unfortunately- clicks don’t burn calories. As a blogger myself, I find it hard to get in as much movement as I would like. Sharing a few tips that might help you move more & stay healthy in general.

Tips to Stay Fit in Your Busy Life

tips to stay fit in your busy life

#1 Morning Workouts

Morning is for workouts – the best is to get it done right before you can start pushing it for later. I used to find it very helpful personally too. Although it has been a while since I started working out in the am, but it’s on my mind.

#2 Drink Water

Water is king. Really, the more you drink the more it detoxes and cleanses your system. Next time, when the 4 pm hunger hits you, gulp down some water. If you are not a fan of plain water- infused water will help. There are many apps, that will remind you to drink water, in some time span like Hydrocoach, Aquaalert and many more on Appstore and Playstore. Many of them are free too. Do check them out.

#3 Walk as you talk

As entrepreneurs, I’m sure a part of your day is spent talking on the phone. If the call doesn’t require you to sit, then just walk while you talk.  Let’s just try, to keep our joints moving. This is probably one of the easiest Tips to Stay Fit in Your Busy Life.

#4 Eat Wise

I noticed this pattern in me: as soon as I would start writing, I needed to munch on something. I was unknowingly, eating a lot more than intended. So, once again I switched to water. And, if that was not doing the trick I tried to have an Americano ( iced black coffee).

eat wise

#5 Journal it

Make a goal and note it down. You can be old school and use pen and paper. Or, use an app. Writing down makes it somewhat real. Your goal can be anything from drinking more water, to cut sugar or walk 3 miles for the week. As long as you keep it real it makes sense.

#6 Be Realistic

Often we want to achieve it all, in the shortest span of time. Alas! What comes fast, goes away faster. So in this case, slow and steady wins the race. Do not stick to just eating boiled veggies and fish. Well, if you can eat it forever then yes, but eat what you can stick with.

I personally ate and still eat dessert daily. The days I feel extra motivated I eat a healthier treat;).  The treat helps me stay motivated for the whole day.

So, meal planning will help a lot.

#7 Reward yourself

Reward yourself but not with food. I often used to reward myself with food, but that was silly. In fact, how about saying – if I lose 2 pounds this month, I will start with my ebook.

The rewards should uplift you, and not derail your progress.

These Tips to Stay Fit in Your Busy Life are all that you need to get motivated and start moving and enjoying a fitter life. Isn’t it?
