So I had to share the Little Extra hair growth serum review with all the beautiful women out there.

When I checked with my dermatologist, he blamed the hard water of Bangalore along with the lack of hair nutrients in the diet! (I never knew I should be including such stuff in the diet!) Ingredients in Little Extra Rosemary Hair Growth Serum

What caught my eye were the ingredients. The makers have taken quite a scientific approach towards its formulation rather than just adding one or two natural ingredients. 

 

  • 2 % Rosemary: Rosemary oil stimulates the scalp, promoting better blood circulation and potentially boosting hair growth
  • 3% Anagain: This plant extract targets the dermal papilla cells at the root of the hair follicle
  • 3% Redensyl: Derived from red apple stem cells, redensyl might extend the hair’s growth phase and increase hair follicle density.
  • 3% Procapil: promotes blood circulation to the scalp
  • 2% Baicapil: has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties

I was more impressed that the hair serum is free of all nasties and harmful chemicals as mentioned in The Evil List (more than 1200 questionable or harmful chemicals that are banned or restricted in the US and India). 

So it doesn’t contain 

  • Paraben 
  • Sulfate
  • Silicone
  • Artificial colours 
  • Artificial fragrance

They’ve even mentioned all of their ingredients on their pack, so there are no hidden ingredients. So Little Extra brownie points from my side. This hair serum is vegan and suitable for all hair types.

My Experience with The Little Extra Rosemary Hair Serum 

Hair serums can be a little difficult to handle because one, you need to use them regularly and two, sometimes they make your scalp greasy. Since I already have an oily scalp, I am always very particular about the hair products I am using. 

To my surprise, the formulation of this rosemary hair serum is non-greasy and lightweight. It comes in a pump spray bottle with which you can directly spray the serum on your scalp. The packaging is travel-friendly and convenient.

How do I use this hair growth serum?

I have been using this serum for over a week now. I spray it onto my scalp at night and massage it with my fingers for a minute. I leave the serum on overnight. Since the formula is lightweight and non-greasy, I do not need to wash my hair the next day. I have used it three days in a row and it didn’t feel greasy or sticky at all. So I am quite impressed with the formula. 

 

You do not need to wash your hair after using the serum and can use it every day or at least 4-6 times a week. 

 

Does it Actually Work?

My hair is looking shinier and I can see less hair fall. I will update again after 4 weeks if I can see new growth or if my volume looks better.

Ladies, how’s the summer heat treating you? I am sure, you are also disgruntled with it, just like me. Summer is the perfect season for poolside lounging and those irresistible ice cream cones. (I am already wanting a B&R tub, in my head). But with the fun comes a change in the weather, and unfortunately, that can wreak havoc on your skin. Have you noticed lately how the heat is breaking you out? I surely have. Suntan, acne and dehydration are just some of the skin woes I have been dealing with since the end of March. However, a good dermatologist, always says to hydrate and protect for good skin.

The heat, humidity, and increased sun exposure can lead to breakouts, dullness, and dehydration. Don’t worry, though! With a few tweaks to your skincare routine, you can keep your skin healthy and radiant all summer long. Let me guide you through it. Summer Skincare Routine – Step-by-Step

This is an easy, 5-step process that you can follow twice a day for nourished and protected skin. I always say, to start with skincare with the products you already have at home and build your routine. You can always invest in good products, like Korean skincare products when you can maintain a routine. I am a big fan of Korean skincare, however, more than the products, the key to good skin is consistency. If you are not consistent, it doesn’t matter which products you are using, the results will hardly show up.

Step 1 – Cleanse Like a Dream

Ditch the heavy cleansers you relied on during the winter. Opt for a gentle, water-based cleanser that removes excess oil, sweat, and dirt without stripping your skin of its natural moisture. Think lightweight gel or foam formulas! You can also try double cleansing.  For double cleansing, you can use a cleansing balm to melt away the makeup and dirt on face and wash with a gentle face wash for your skin type.

Step 2 – Exfoliate for a Brighter You

Exfoliation is key to removing dead skin cells that can clog pores and lead to breakouts. However, with the increased sun exposure in summer, be gentle! Aim for exfoliation 1-2 times a week with a chemical exfoliant containing AHAs (like glycolic acid) or BHAs (like salicylic acid). These exfoliating solutions work wonders at removing dead skin without the harshness of physical scrubs. However, once a week, you can also make a DIY sugar and coffee scrub for your face to remove blackheads and tans.

Step 3 – Moisturize, Don’t Skip!

Remember, moisturiser is important for all seasons be it summer or monsoon. Just because it’s hot doesn’t mean you can ditch the moisturizer. The key is to choose a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer that hydrates your skin without making it feel greasy. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, known for its ability to hold onto moisture. This lightweight gel moisturiser is my current favourite because it gets absorbed super fast.

Step 4 – Sunscreen: Your Summer BFF

Sunscreen is non-negotiable, no matter the season. In summer, it becomes even more crucial. Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and apply it generously to your entire face and neck (and don’t forget your ears!) every single day, even on cloudy days. Reapply every two hours, especially after swimming or sweating. I can’t stop talking about sunscreen because it is a saviour for the skin. I have been advised by my dermatologist to apply sunscreen even when I am indoors, apparently, I have photosensitive skin. So do not forget to stock up on your SPF.

Step 5 – Mask Magic for a Summer Glow

Treat your skin to a hydrating face mask once or twice a week for an extra boost. You can make DIY face masks using yogurt, honey, aloe vera or use hydrating sheet mask with ingredients like hyaluronic acid or niacinamide that will plump and replenish your skin.
