Your Winter Skincare routine for hand and body must include steps of exfoliating and hydrating the skin with good moisturizers and cream. These 10 tips on Winter Skincare care routine for hand and body will help you maintain healthy and supple skin throughout winter.
This year winter is being harsh everywhere in India. Temperature in Kolkata dipping down to 9 is unheard of. Bangalore is relatively warmer currently. Cold dry air eaves your skin dry and itchy. We are always ready with our skincare routines for the face. We don’t forget our scrubs, serums or moisturizers. But we often skip taking care of our hands and feet!
Hands are always exposed to soaps, cleaners, and less hygienic places and we really can’t avoid them. It is important we maintain its skincare along with hygiene. Washing with warm water and soap isn’t enough. Warm water tends to dry out the skin by stripping it of its natural oils.
But there are various ways we can tackle dry skin of hand and body in winters. I am sharing with you 10 tips on winter Skincare routine for hand and body that you can follow in the winters and keep your skin soft and supple.
10 Tips on Winter Skincare routine for hand and body
- Limit shower time and check the temperature – too much hot water isn’t good for your skin as well as hair
- Use an exfoliating scrub to exfoliate and clean dry skin especially around elbows and feet
- Opt for gentle fragrance-free cleansers for hands –Artificial fragrance tends to irritate skin and make the skin dry. Use unscented cleansers for skin because they will not irritate the skin.
- Stay Hydrated and eat right – Drinking water is important even in winters
- Use honey pack – Mix 4 spoons of honey with 2 spoons of milk and few drops of lemon juice. This pack will moisturize, hydrate and de-tan the skin on your hands and feet.
- Soak feet in warm water with a slice of lime and a spoonful of salt – this will relax the feet and get rid of dry skin
- Use almond oil to massage skin – almond oil is known to nourish dry skin
- Reduce usage of hand drying machines – use tissues or towels instead
- Use gel-based moisturizing hand sanitizers – do not use alcohol-based hand sanitizers
- Use good moisturizing hand creams and body butter – Use hand creams generously after you shower and also after you wash your hands. Body butter is a great way to moisturize your skin in winters.
I have dry skin on my body and oily skin on my face. In winters my legs tend to get very dry. When you are handling kids and cleaning up after them you tend to wash your hands more. I use hand cream often after I have washed my hands in warm water because I don’t want my hand to become some sandpaper! I have been looking for a hand and body lotion that is hydrating and convenient to carry. And I found it online! Â
