Wellness in Life – Step 23 to Leading a Meaningful Life | #AtoZChallenge

by tinabasu April 29, 2017
written by tinabasu

Wellness in life is key to having a fruitful meaningful life. A 360-degree wellness in life is important for anyone to deal with life.

wellness in life

Health is wealth, no wonder that statement is one of the golden statements and true to life. Without wellness and good health, you are not living a life. And when I say wellness I am not talking about only physical health. Physical health is only one aspect of our overall health. Our basic necessity is to maintain a 360-degree wellness in life.

Wellness is the complete integration of body, mind, and spirit.
– Greg Anderson

What are components of Wellness in Life?

  1. Physical Health – Physical health is important for everyone. Keeping your cardiovascular system, respiratory system in perfect condition is vital. Maintaining, muscular capacity, flexibility, agility and a good body composition is equally important.
  2. Mental Heath – As much a physical health is important for you, having a healthy mental health is key to wellness in life. It involves the ability to learn and grow intellectually.
  3. Emotional Health – Having a sound emotional health is again a key to keeping stress away.
  4. Social Health – We humans cannot lead an isolated life. We are meant to be social and cordial. The ability to socialize and interact with people helps in maintaining good relationship
  5. Spiritual Health – Not everyone is religious, but a belief in a super power – a unifying force, helps at trying times.

How to maintain Wellness in Life?

  1. Fitness and exercise – in any form are good for both your health, mind, and soul. If you hate the gym, like me, do yoga, do meditation.
  2. Take up a sport and play at free times – it can be tennis, table tennis, squash, and if you are like me and love the water – go swimming.
  3. Do some brisk walking in the morning or evening
  4. Talk to people. Don’t restrict yourself to your phone or laptop. Go out and interact with people.
  5. Have a meal together with family where you are not checking your WhatsApp or Facebook
  6. If you are feeling uncomfortable and emotionally low, talk to someone, speak to friends, speak to your mom, if everything fails, write down – make an anonymous blog even.
  7. Involve yourself in some charitable work – teach underprivileged children on a weekend, help out a physically disabled man sometimes, or even spend a day at an old age home over a weekend – they all help you create experiences and in turn, you will bring a smile to someone.

Now, do you think Wellness in Life is very difficult to achieve? No, it isn’t, but it won’t be easier if you do not take the first step.

written by tinabasu

Values in life are to be respected. Everyone has values – that are instilled in them from childhood. To lead a meaningful life you should be aligned with your values.

values in life

Values in life are generally learned through experience over time. You learn from what you see. Values and principles get instilled in you when you see what is being practiced in the family. Values that one learn from others could be

  1. Respecting elders
  2. Telling truth
  3. Doing certain rituals in the morning

But values in life you should build up for a meaningful life?

  1. Make a positive impact – With our decisions and actions we leave an impact on the lives of everyone around and on the earth as well. Try making a positive impact.
  2. Respect yourself – while it’s important to respect elders, learn to respect yourself and your actions. Be answerable to yourself. When you start respecting yourself you realize you don’t have to depend on things like alcohol or drugs under stress
  3. Be transparent in works you do – when you are true to yourself and transparent about your work you have nothing to explain.
  4. Never stop Learning – This is the best thing you can do for yourself. There no end to learning and you can never learn enough. Be a student of life.

Complete guide for Couples thinking for ICSI Treatment

by tinabasu April 27, 2017
written by tinabasu

If you cannot conceive naturally, now there’s ICSI treatment or Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection – an assisted reproductive procedure that helps couples conceive. Read the Complete guide for couples looking for ICSI treatment in Bangalore.

complete guide to ICSI treatment

Motherhood is a wonderfully blessed phase.  Every woman at some point in time wants to embrace motherhood. Little hands grabbing your tiny finger, toothless grins and unconditional love – a  child fulfills your life. While motherhood is always about a choice and commitment not everyone is lucky enough to make that choice. For some couples, it is very difficult to conceive naturally. This can be for various reason – lifestyle choices, stress, PCOD, low sperm count in husbands, male infertility. This guide is for couples who are facing challenges in conceiving naturally, due to male infertility and thus are looking for ICSI treatment in Bangalore.

Medical science has time and again proved to challenge nature and help humans. If you cannot conceive naturally, you can opt for IVF. But couples who face an issue of male infertility, have a troubled IVF journey. Unless you can extract healthy sperms from the male it is nearly impossible to have a successful IVF.

What causes Male Infertility?

Male infertility issues are very common and can arise because of lifestyle choices too. There are various factors that contribute to male infertility.

  1. Genetic conditions of infertility
  2. Substance abuse – alcohol, tobacco, drugs
  3. Hormonal disorder
  4. Exposure to radiation and poisonous chemicals
  5. Wearing restrictive underwear
  6. Injury in the groin area
  7. Certain medications can lead to infertility in men
  8. Sexually transmitted disease
  9. Erection dysfunction

Why male infertility causes problem in conceiving?

While it is known you need a sperm and an egg to come together for reproduction, you also need to realize the importance of healthy sperms. Male infertility factors contribute to approximately 30% of all infertility cases. What happens when a male has infertility issues?

  1. Sperm count is low
  2. There are morphological problems – all parts of sperms are not formed well
  3. Motility issues – the sperm cannot travel fast and further due to abnormality in shape

What is ICSI Treatment and how is it different from IVF?

ICSI or Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection is a specialized form of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) that is used for the treatment of severe cases of male infertility. In simple words it is the process of injecting a single healthy sperm in the middle of an egg, retrieved from a female partner.

In a standard IVF procedure egg and sperms retrieved from both partners are mixed together in a dish and they fertilize in a natural way. However, if the sperms are not healthy, or have morphological problems this fertilization becomes a challenge. ICSI and IVF go hand in hand, ICSI is not a substitute of IVF. ICSI treatment provides hopes and results for couples for whom normal IVF is not an option.

How is the ICSI procedure performed?

ICSI is a non-invasive laboratory procedure.

  1. Eggs are retrieved from a female partner in an IVF cycle
  2. Experienced embryologists use delicate, hollow and sharp needles to immobilize and pick up a single sperm that’s collected from the male partner
  3. This needle is then carefully inserted through the outer shell of the egg and egg membrane into the inner part (cytoplasm) of the egg under microscope
  4. Eggs are checked next morning for evidence of normal fertilization
  5. Once eggs are fertilized, embryo transfer is done within 3-5 days

Who is ICSI treatment suitable for?

Patients having a problem conceiving naturally due to a severe case of male infertility and don’t want a donor’s sperm can go for ICSI treatment in Bangalore.

  1. Sperm concentrations of less than 15-20 million per milliliter
  2. Sperm motility less than 35%
  3. Very poor sperm morphology with maximum abnormally formed sperms
  4. Failed IVF cycle with no fertilization

If your sperm analysis throws up results like the ones mentioned above then a normal IVF cycle success is very difficult and you should consider ICSI treatment.

Where to get ICSI Treatment in Bangalore?

Trained and experienced specialists carry out ICSI Treatment in Bangalore in an effective way with higher success rate. Fertilization rate after ICSI treatment is about 50%-80%. ICSI treatment in Bangalore can be done in hospitals and fertility clinics.

Tips to choose the right place for ICSI Treatment in Bangalore

Not being able to conceive can be frustrating for couples. This is the time when you should be together and think logically instead of getting depressed and too worried. There are many places you can get ICSI done but follow these tips to choose the right place for ICSI treatment in Bangalore.

  1. Choose facilities that offer Fertility investigations, helps in ovulation induction
  2. Choose a facility that can also provide Fertility-Assisted Hatching or laser hatching to increase the efficiency of IVF and ICSI
  3. Choose a facility based on high rates of fertilization cases
  4. Best IVF and ICSI facility means – high chances of live births of a baby
  5. Always ask questions – it is good to know and be aware of information
  6. Ask questions like – “What is the number of live deliveries you have done for women of my age and my fertility profile?”
  7. When contacting a hospital or fertility clinic ask for stats of live births rather than the number of pregnancies. All pregnancies don’t necessarily lead to live birth.
  8. Choose a hospital that has  good  facility  for  handling  complications during  delivery  and  post delivery
  9. Choose a hospital or clinic that has a good NICU and pediatric facility

It is okay if you cannot conceive naturally, do not lose hope. Science has been known to help man in the most trying times. IVF and ICSI have become quite common today. There is no harm in getting help and having a baby than leaving it to fate and not having the pleasure of having your baby. ICSI Bangalore is carried out by various institutions and experienced doctors – keep the hope alive in you.

Uniqueness in you – Step 21 to Leading a Meaningful Life | #AtoZChallenge

by tinabasu April 25, 2017
written by tinabasu

Uniqueness in you is what makes you an individual. Uniqueness is why you stand out from the crowd – it is a way to success and a key ingredient to a meaningful life

uniqueness-in-you

Trusting your individual uniqueness challenges you to lay yourself open – James Broughton.

You make your life meaningful when you contribute towards making your life better when you try to better the imperfections. Life is good when you try and be the best version of yourself. Your uniqueness is your brand value. According to Psychology, no two human minds are same, even the identical twins have two different individual minds.  Uniqueness is important in all walks of life – in your profession, in your relationship, as a human being or in your interests.

What is Uniqueness and how to identify it?

Uniqueness, as I mentioned before, varies from individual to individual. You need to identify your uniqueness and work on it.

  1. Try to remember what others have said about you or your presence, or the effect you have had on them, filter from that what uniqueness you have.

Example – you might be a good orator, you can be witty, you can come across a positive and bright person, look for the positives. Make a list of the positive things that people say about you.

  1. What have you noticed and realized about yourself – the things that make you stand out in a crowd

How can you make uniqueness work for you in life?

  1. Work on your uniqueness regularly to keep it alive and capitalize on it
  2. Pick out the ones that people think are unique to you, not necessarily, all that you think is unique about you comes across a uniqueness of yours, for others
  3. Understand your special talent and work for it. If you are great at doodling and hand drawn typography on paper, learn a design software that can enable you to even, sell that work of art digitally
  4. DO not try to ape or copy someone – it’s your uniqueness you need to capitalize.

Trust in Life – Step 20 to Leading a Meaningful Life | #AtoZChallenge

by tinabasu April 24, 2017
written by tinabasu

Trust is the treasure of our daily lives. Trust in life is fundamental because all human relationships revolve around trust.

trust-in-life

These days, however, “trust” is made out to be a commercial entity. You have scores of financial trust bombarding the airtime with their advertisements, you have the charitable trusts calling you every other day for donation and help, school trust, community trust and “trust” used in every other business name. But seldom you find people talking about the importance of trust in life – the virtue that is fundamental to life.

Life gets difficult if you cannot find trust – you are unable to trust someone or more than someone. And even worse, if you can’t make people trust you. No relationship –not necessarily a romantic relationship- can stay alive without trust. As a child, you have blind trust on your mom and dad by default, because you know they care for you. I can’t even call that a universal truth because of the horrifying instances that I have read how parents sometimes become demons and try to harm their own children. When you read in the news how a mom stabbed her 8-month-old child because it didn’t let her sleep, or about a dad who regularly sexually abused his daughter – you lose trust from mankind or even the word trust!

What is the Importance of Trust in Life?

  1. No marriage or romantic relationship can survive without trust
  2. More marriages are wrecked because of lack of trust in partners than infidelity
  3. Friendships become bitter due to lack of trust
  4. Trust between business partners and clients is one of the keys for a business to survive
  5. At workplace, if you can’t trust your colleagues or boss your work suffers and you are under constant mental woes
  6. Trust is synonymous with warmth in any relationship
  7. Lack of trust signifies decay in society in general.

How to cultivate Trust in Life?

Even when you know trust is key to a meaningful life you find mistrust everywhere around you. I have huge trust issues with the entire universe of advertising – read the Mac Donald burger ads – they look two floors tall in the ads and when you order you get the most unappetizing limp looking burger!  On a more serious note, without trust in life, you are unable to create a conducive atmosphere which has transparency. If you can’t trust a doctor can you trust your life with him? If you can’t trust a bank or financial investment firm can you trust your money with them? There are tons of instances, in both these fields, to warn you against blindly trusting anyone.

Building up trust is not an easy job. It requires time, conscious effort and intent to develop trust.

  1. Nurture relationships with care
  2. Don’t let ego destroy relationships
  3. Make efforts to build trust in you with good intent
  4. Don’t keep everything inside you, share, talk, communicate, open up
  5. People with matured, balanced thoughts tends to get trusted more
  6. Being competitive is good, but being jealous and making the competition a war isn’t great, people tend to lose trust in you when you get reckless.

It’s not about being perfect, it’s being the best version of yourself (again I am inspired by Mr. Roshan and his words). Mistrust is a reflection of your imperfections and inadequacies. But all reforms start at home, Give time, have a good intent, make yourself trustworthy. Trust in life is as important as life itself.

Success in Life – Step 19 to Leading a Meaningful Life #AtoZChallenge

by tinabasu April 23, 2017
written by tinabasu

You can never deny how important it is to see success in life. Success depends on people perceptions and helps you lead a meaningful life.

success-in-life

“Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal” according to the inspired Earl Nightingale.

Success is a word which may have a different meaning for me and a completely different meaning to you and someone else can have another view of success. It’s about the perception of the word. But you cannot deny that everyone is always looking for success in life. Its nature and perspective of success are different amongst people. For one, it can be a promotion at work, for a student, it can be topping the class or boards, or for someone, it can be a relationship or as simple as crops in the field.

“Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.”— Winston S. Churchill

How to achieve success in life?

Success can be elusive sometimes but you have to work towards achieving it. Don’t give up if you don’t find success in the first attempt.

If you really look closely, most overnight successes took a long time— Steve Jobs

  1. Make a habit of writing down everything
  2. Write on paper your purpose of success
  3. Make achievable goals
  4. Keep track of these achievable goals
  5. Learn from mistakes and errors – they are the best teachers
  6. Don’t entertain negative feedback
  7. Welcome constructive criticism and work on them
  8. Don’t run after only the goals, make time for yourself

It’s always in you, sometimes you need to work harder and push yourself. Don’t give up, maybe its waiting for right after the next hurdle!
