Pregnancy is a beautiful time in every woman’s life. It not just is a physical transformation, but an emotional journey too. It is very normal of to feel tiredness and weakness during this period especially during the first trimester and the third trimester as our body undergoes a lot of changes. The physical changes affect the regular metabolism of the body and forces you to be in the tired state. This is very much normal as long you don’t feel uncomforting and don’t have trouble in breathing.

Pregnancy Care – First Trimester Care

During the first trimester, the body prepares itself to adapt to the changes that will follow. A woman’s body works very hard to get the strength to support the life that is growing inside. The doctor will keep a check on your anaemia, blood pressure, sugar levels during your regular pregnancy checks. During one of the visits to for regular check-ups in a maternity hospital in Bangalore, my doctor suggested me high vitamin and protein food. We reduced the intake of chemical supplements and she advised to go all natural. I think this is one of the best advice I got during the first trimester. I was also visiting a nutritionist who provided me with the best list of food for my intake. All these things helped me in building a better immune system and I hardly felt the need for medical supplements for energy. I split my daily meal into 5 meals and it included a lot of fruits, nuts, fish, and egg. I took folic acids as a supplement.

Pregnancy Care – Third Trimester Care

Your tenderness and fatigue can last until your third trimester. TThe third trimester is when you need a lot of rest and care. Some of the symptoms that you may be experiencing is vomiting, continued morning sickness, mood swings, loss of appetite, change in tastes, nausea and fatigue. These symptoms occur to most women during their pregnancy cycle and hence it is completely alright to have these symptoms, so don’t feel alone in this. Exercise, good diet, rest and breathing practice – are all important during the third trimester.

Coping with Pregnancy changes

It could be challenging to cope with the rapid changes of the body but it is always important to understand the phase at which we can cope. Always listen to the symptoms your body shows, these are the things your body wants to tell you.

Pregnancy Care – What can you do?

Rest – Power Nap

Plenty of rest is important throughout pregnancy. Even if you are a working woman, a power nap for 15 to 30 minutes will help you relax and give you the much-needed rest. Change your schedule accordingly. Most of the corporate organizations have a flexible policy for the pregnant women.

Food – Healthy Balanced Diet

Food is the medicine here. Eat organic food and avoid adulterated or processed food. This will make you sick. Well-cooked protein food helps your pregnancy. Avoid undercooked eggs or raw food – even Sushi – for a healthy pregnancy diet.

Evening walks, family get-together, some yoga, and exercise should do the job of keeping you active and healthy. Some of the maternity hospital in mumbai provide pre-natal and post-natal classes. Join them for a good pregnancy care.

“because you are meant to paper yourself”. So right. But we tend to forget this especially when we are living in a nuclear setup. Not every going to be mom gets the chance to stay with her mom. In many cases, parents come right before the delivery. But self pampering is very important.
