Live in the Moment: Prestige Glenwood, Luxury Villas in Bangalore

by tinabasu February 9, 2017
written by tinabasu

How do you wake up in the morning? Amidst the chirping of birds or amidst the loud honking of vehicles? What do you see outside your window? Lush greenery and clear skies or dusty smog covered roads? If you live in Bangalore there are more chances of you living in an area which is always crowded with never ending traffic. Whether you stay in the Central Business District or the SBDs every locality has the same story. This is one of main reasons for the ever increasing population of the city to move in the suburbs and surrounding areas.

I discovered one such budding area in the suburbs last weekend when I was invited by Prestige Constructions to have a look and review their latest luxury property Prestige Glenwood at Budigere Cross, off Old Madras Road.

prestige-glenwood-buy-luxury-villa-in-bangalore-real-estate-property

Prestige Glenwood is a Luxury Villa Property spread across 15 acres of land with 116 ready-to-move-in 4BHK and 3BHK villas and twin houses. As on date 55 of these beautiful villas have already been sold or are occupied.

Location

This was my first visit to Budigere. Initially, I felt it would be too far off, but surprisingly it was a 40 minutes’ drive from Indiranagar. The KR Puram-Old Madras Road stretch is a busy and bustling area. The property is about 20 Km from MG Road and most of the IT Parks lie in within a 10-20 km radius. The 6 lane highway that connects KR Puram with Hoskote is a fast moving signal free road that makes connectivity to Budigere very easy.

budigere-prestige-glenwood-location

Connectivity to Whitefield, one of Bangalore’s premium hotspot these days is easy from Budigere. You can reach via KR Puram or the Kadugodi road. The Kempegowda International Airport is about 20 Km from Prestige Glenwood. Devanahalli stretch has become a buzz in recent times with fast lane highways and upcoming SEZ. The two lane road that connects Budigere Cross to the airport is getting a facelift and becoming a four lane highway in another 18 months time.

With companies like Cipla and Siemens at stone throw distance and the adjacent New Baldwin International School Prestige Glenwood is away from the city yet closer to everything you need.

About the Property

These tastefully done villas are spread across 15 acres of land in the laps of nature. Skirting the boundary of the complex you have lush green mango orchards. You have options of 4 BHK villas and 3BHK independent villas and twin houses starting from 3694 Sqft and 3662 Sqft to 2940 Sqft. Every villa is vastu compliant with ample natural light and air.

Each villa has been carefully constructed with a parking space for two cars, large patios, large kitchens and cozy living and dining spaces. While the Italian marble flooring in the foyer, living, dining spaces exudes grandeur the wooden laminated flooring in all the bedrooms oozes luxury.

What you get inside: The floor to ceiling height is an impressive 12 feet as compared to the regular 9 ft height you get to see in apartments across Bangalore. The large terraces are perfect for hosting a brunch or a barbeque party.

Every villa has a solar water heater on the terrace, beautiful bathroom fittings by Kohler, spacious bath tubs in all master bedrooms. Each villa comes with a video phone security system for your added security.

The kitchens comes with a granite flooring and granite top with a double bowl sink, while the adjacent utility area has ceramic tile flooring and enough space for a dishwasher and washing machine. All the villas come with a servant’s room and toilet which very conveniently can be accessed from outside the villa. You can make wonders with the interiors with so much of space. MORPH design, a sister concern of Prestige Construction has done up the model villa in the property.

True to their name and legacy Prestige Glenwood offers 5 star amenities with a sprawling club house, massive infinity pool, badminton court, squash court, billiards room, gymnasium, children outdoor play area and indoor playing room. You are spoilt for choice.

Make the most from Power of 3

Prestige Glenwood Villas are priced at 1.9 Crores starting. Arranging finance for any real estate investment is a task in itself. Prestige Group, for the benefit of their customers has come up with this fitting offer – Power of 3. With tie ups with leading banks like State Bank of India and HDFC you can now enjoy a subvention from Prestige Group from 3.99% interest for loans with 10 years tenure to 5.99% for loans with 20 years tenure. In a nutshell, the EMI will cost you Rs. 1248 per Lakh per month, which makes it a saving of 15 Lakhs on the total cost.

This offer is applicable across 19 Ready-to-Move-in properties across Bangalore, Kochi, Chennai and Hyderabad. So grab the Power of 3 before the offer finishes on 12th of February and enjoy the Prestige Lifestyle.

Final Thoughts

As with any new budding area in a big city, it requires little time to become the next hotspot. This has been true with most of the current posh suburb areas in Bangalore.

  • The ORR-Hoskote belt is an industrial belt – you can expect more SEZ, office spaces coming up in future
  • The road towards international airport is soon going to be a 4 lane highway making connectivity with Devanahalli and adjoining areas easy.
  • Budigere currently is under BMRDA and not BBMP
  • The water supply source is borewell water – water situation in Bangalore is anyways pretty sad
  • While the roads are good, the public transport isn’t. Without your own vehicle commute can be difficult
  • Not too many retail spaces around as yet
  • The closest hospitals are in Whitefield

That makes Prestige Glenwoods a luxurious living space. If you are looking to invest in a second home or a holiday home a little away from all the crowd in the city amidst the laps of nature yet not too far away, this property just fits the bill. If you are working in Whitefield and adjoining areas and don’t want to stay in the crowded neighborhood of Whitefield you can look towards Prestige Glenwood.

I was invited to review this property. The views are entirely mine.

The Old Friend – 100 Word Fiction | #FridayFotoFIction Week 11

by tinabasu February 7, 2017
written by tinabasu

Welcome to another exciting week of #FridayFotoFiction. I read somewhere human mind is complex and contradictory like layers of ice cream parfait and fiction is just the reflection of it. What a wonderful thought is that!

I am writing these short pieces here and there, but haven’t quite written a good short story in a while. maybe I should get back to doing that. Pretty soon!

#FridayFotoFiction Week 11 Prompt

The Old Friend – #FridayFotoFiction

The once successful best seller author was an alcoholic, arrogant and apathetic failure today.

With no success in his recent novels Nicolai Woods had given up all hopes.

Engulfed in debt and personal disasters, Woods desperately needed a hit.

He sat with his laptop but stared at the blank screen.

Nothing came to his mind.

“I’ll do everything I did for the first time, I’ll start afresh”

“I need my old friend.”

Rummaging through his storeroom he finally set his eyes on the old typewriter, his first friend.

It was the one in which he had written his first bestseller.

Top 5 Online shopping sites for a Mom

by tinabasu February 4, 2017
written by tinabasu

When you are a new mom you can hardly figure out any time to do you basic necessities forget about shopping. The entire routine of getting ready, going to a mall, parking the car, checking out things, queuing up at trial rooms and then billing. Seriously I can’t do all that with a baby.

When my son Bluey was born I remember getting panicked at every discomfort he showed, at the slightest little wail. All I wanted was to reduce and remove any kind of discomfort for him. I spent most of the time with him and didn’t allow anyone near him. That was also the time when I checked every single thing for the baby online or through mobile apps.

Today I am heavily depended on the online shopping thing because i find it much more convinient and frankly I dont have the time now to go to a shop.

Here is a list of 5 online shopping sites that I have started to love the most.

top-5-online-shopping-sites-for-moms-in-india

AMAZON

Amazon is my go to place for almost anything and everything right now. I have bought the breast pumps, feeding bottles, to night suits, diapers, clothes, shoes and god knows what not. Like how one would do the monthly grocery shopping at a super market – I do that on amazon.

Baby Oye

If you like good product and great deals this is the site you should visit. They have premium brands and some times you get wonderful deals. I bought Bluey’s Graco pram and car seat from this site at a good price. I also got the milestone diaper bag from here. I love their collection of baby utility products. You should have their app on your phone.

First Cry

If you are not getting a product in a near by store you are most likely to get it in First cry – from diapers to dolls you get everything. I have bought several clothes for Bluey from First Cry and have never been dissapointed with the quality or delivery time.

If you are looking for theme costumes, ethnic dresses for your little ones or the winter cardigans First Cry is the place. You should try First Cry Premium for these pretty dresses.

Hopscotch

If you like buying fashionable clothes for your little ones then you must try Hopscotch. They have these pre-book stores that sells fashionable, chic dresses for the little ones that you can pre-book in advance.

I have bought several Carter’s outfits for Bluey from Hopscotch. You don’t get good deals on Carter’s on a lot of Indian sites currently. In anyways, buying clothes for boys is a nightmare for a mother. I almost hate everything that is available for boys and like about everything in the girls section. But you get good fashionable clothing sets (which mostly are from China) in Hopscotch.

I love their collection of shoes aswell.

Ali Express

All those things that you can pre-book in First Cry or Amazon or Hopscotch are mostly available in Ali Express. (or maybe they order on Ali Express, who knows!) The choice of clothing, shoes, luggage for babies and kids and also for moms is immense. there can’t be a situation that you wont like or wont wan to order. They are an outfit of the Alibaba group and one of the biggest online seller currently. They ship worldwide but mostly they ship through CHina post. So if you are ordering from India your product will reach you in about 45 days time. So if you have time in your hand you can try Ali Express.

I have bought a few clothes for Bluey on Ali Express and they all turned nice. I have also had a situation with a seller who said the product has reached India but they finally didn’t deliver the product citing custom issues. But I got a full refund by Ali Express for not delivering the product.

So what are your favourite online shopping sites/apps as a mmom for your baby?

#ThankfulThursdays Week 14 Prompt

thankful thursdays prompt

We are always thankful to god for the life, for the family or the job, assets and what not. We are either thankful to the super power up above or some people are thankful to themselves for getting them or earning them. But have you ever sat and thought how thankful you should be for NOT having something!

We always think about the good, better, bests in life but let’s look at it like this – what if you had xxx which wasn’t good for you and you thank god for not having it. So let’s see what are the nays that I am thankful for not invading me!

NOT BEING AN ADDICT

One thing I am very happy to have is the will power and better judgement. I kind of like to believe I am quite sorted up there in my head. I realized it quite early there’s no point is having an addiction with anything and depend on it so much that you can’t function without it! Addiction – in any form – is bad for your physical and mental health. I know my parents are big tea addicts so much so that they get a headache if they skip their evening tea one day! I on the other hand simply hate tea, I am more of a coffee person but I am not an addict at the same time. I can go without coffee for days too.

For most of my teens I had loads of disagreements with my mom – on what I read, who I went out with etc etc. And some days I wanted to tell her – say thank you to me at least I am not a drug addict!! (Okay if she is reading this she’ll faint). 80% of my classmates in my grad school and post grad school smoked and some even did weeds and hash. Not that I have not tried smoking ever in life – but I never found out why people are such addicts! And I completely hate smoking – anything – for that matter!

NOT OPENING MY MOUTH AT THE WRONG TIME

I pre-motherhood was an extremely patient person. You can’t possibly get me to shout at someone or use bad language (until I am really pissed). [And once I am in that stage of being pissed you can be considered no body and can have a bad time with me, you have been warned now!] This I consider a virtue. Words spoken once can’t be taken back nor can that wound be healed easily.

6920d3d82481ada13c74163763adae52

I am thankful I am not short tempered which also means I don’t have to regret or remorse later for something I say or do in the heat of the moment. Life with a toddler can be wonderful and daunting at the same time – specially if you are working from home. I do lose my temper at my son sometimes but I am thankful I can check it quickly!

NOT HAVING AN AILMENT

It’s unfortunate that many kids are born with diseases – life threatening ones and many can’t cope up with an ailment. I am thankful to god and my parents for taking good care of me as a child and vaccinated me on time. I have never fallen sick apart from the cold cough or fever. I still remember the vaccine for hepatitis had just got launched and within a week my dad gave it to me. I was in my senior school I guess that time. So by god’s grace – I have never had a bout of pox, jaundice, severe flu nor have I broken a bone or two!

The only time I have been in a hospital is to deliver my baby. I had a c-section under general anesthesia and surprisingly I recovered pretty fast without any side effect (or pain/discomfort) till this date. I was walking (with some pain of course) on Day 3 after the operation. In a week I was fully fit. Thanks to my gynac – he had told me when I release you from the nursing home you will be able to run and go home!

I hope this keeps going this way because I wouldn’t want to pop in pills frequently.

NOT BEING AFRAID TO SAY SORRY

Ego – Three Little letters that keep us from saying things we really need to say like: I love you, I miss you and I am sorry.

Mistakes in life are not bad. Without doing a mistake you won’t learn – you won’t learn what’s good what’s bad. But the bigger win is to accepting the mistake. That requires you to be brave. If you do a mistake be brave enough to accept it and probably say a little sorry for that. It doesn’t make you smaller, it doesn’t make me less important or reduce my ego.

If I am certain it’s my mistake I am never afraid to say sorry. It really cost your ego.

So tell me people what are you Thankful for NOT having in life this Thursday.

#ThankfulThursdays Week 13 Winner

Winner for last week’s #ThankfulThursdays is Preethi Venugopala. I love her list of apps. She is our civil engineer turned star author.

Welcome to another week of #FridayFotoFiction. I am sure you all are enjoying this weekly exercise of pushing yourself to write a few lines out of imagination. I like the fact that a photo can be so powerful. It has such an ability to make you think and take you to a space where there can be so many possibilities.

The Familiar Face – #FridayFotoFiction Week 10

“The misty fragrance of the tea leaves is welcoming.

The familiar hills stand silently engulfed in fog.

Finally I get to see this beautiful land.

But my beautiful love awaits me. She has been waiting for three years.

I had promised you I’ll return, my love.

A few more minutes through the winding roads and you’ll be in my arms.”

But a familiar face among the tea pickers shook him up. Niyati, his lady love was relentlessly picking the leaves. But what sent a jolt through his body was the baby tied to her back.

“She didn’t wait for me?”
