What to do on a gloomy Sunday when you are down with cold and fever? Read books, stay warm and come up with a 55 Fiction! And that’s exactly what I did today. Before the antibiotics make me go back to sleep, I better write my post.
So here goes my post.
Read my earlier 55 Fiction here.
Happy Anniversary
Cake… check, candles…check, lights… out.
Ridhima hoped Mohit will be happy with the anniversary surprise…
He has been odd lately, but today she wanted him to be happy.
She opened the door with a smile but Mohit gave a wicked grin.
Before she could say Happy Anniversary a shining dagger was plunged into her heart.

So here is what I, sort of, learn’t today – Question Tags. Check out the new post on Write Tribe. Wiki says, a Question Tag is a grammatical structure where you turn a sentence in a question by adding an interrogative fragment.
Today’s post is on the 100 Word Story on Saturday Prompt from Write Tribe and this post will have a lot of question tags!
Read my earlier short fiction posts here, won’t you?
Let’s have some Romance, shall we?
“This place is awesome, isn’t it?”
“Yes babes.”
“The blue waters outside… this serenity around us… it just feels like love is in the air”
“Come here babe? I don’t want you so far”
“The villa’s so cozy, the bed linens are so soft, it does feel like home, doesn’t it?”
“Absolutely, that is exactly why I chose this tropical island for our honeymoon” said Nico while placing a soft kiss on his newly wedded wife.
“Mr. Husband you are getting romantic, aren’t you?”
“What else could I do when I have such a lovely bride”
“Love you my darling”

I came across this awesome blog by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields who has this Friday Fictioneer section. So I plunged in with another fiction. Check out the blog for awesome 100 word fictions.
You gotta respond to the photo prompt with 100 words story.
So here is my entry.
You can read my earlier short fictions here.
The Cursed King
I see you in trouble… it pains me.
I want to set you free.
I went against your wishes. I was blind, I didn’t think about you. Warmth of romance and the dazzling beauty of the woman blinded me. I wanted only her.
But this is what she has made me. Forgive me Oh People, your king stands today as a stoned statue and can’t fight for you.
Pray to the Almighty, my people, beg him to remove this curse – pray that I can send the queen of underground back to her empire and set you free from this anarchy.
I took upon this mammoth task of reading all the blog posts that I found related to UBC July. If I am not wrong I read and commented on about 61 posts!!! Phew that’s really a task. But now after so many nice posts my mind was wandering on what to write, and here I am writing yet another Short Story and this time for ABC & UBC both!.
For Y I am choosing Yellow. I love how the color brightens up every damn thing. So go ahead and read my short story.
You can read my earlier short fictions here.
Yellow Lilies
Before going off to sleep Diana was sulking.
When she woke up in the morning she was still in the same mood, as if the annoying feeling never left her.
She didn’t want to feel like that… not today.
She looked at the bed side table from where Brad gave his broad gummy smile.
She buried her face back in the pillow… Diana didn’t want him to smile from the photo frame like every other day. Today she wanted him here… by her side… under the blanket. Today she didn’t want to be alone, not alone again on their anniversary. She was sure Brad wouldn’t even remember the date, or would find time to call.
She tried going back to sleep again on this bright sunny day when the doorbell rang.
Diana wasn’t expecting anyone at this hour of the morning, but still she went down to check.
And there he was standing with a bunch of beautiful yellow lilies that brought an instant glow on her face.
“Who sent these?”
“Mam, A very happy anniversary, here’s a little note that the sender has sent”, said the delivery boy while handing over the card to Diana.
Before Diana could settle down on her couch with the note, the phone rang loudly.
“How is it?” asked the thick voice across the line.
“Brad… you remembered?” she asked in a soft voice
“How can I not remember yellowis your favorite color and that you absolutely love yellow lilies?”
“Ohh… Stop it Brad…they are lovely, but I am glad that you remember our anniversary. But how did you manage this from Iraq?”
“A husband can do many things, my love, it doesn’t matter if I’m in Iraq or Afghanistan… Love you my Sunshine.”
“Love you too Sergeant Major” announced Diana while placing a tiny kiss on the soft yellow petals.
Someone somewhere had said it justly, being a soldier’s wife is not easy.
Did you like it? Leave a comment below on your thoughts.

First they were shocked… then they laughed… and then they mocked.
They thought what on earth was she doing here.
They made fun of me, they chuckled, they giggled.
Unleashing my passion on the floor, I let my moves do the talking.
I held them in awe for minutes and I kept giving them what they didn’t expect.
I showed them my killer moves, till their jaws dropped.
When I am done they all stood up… they had to … I made them stand up.
Yes, I who chased my dreams and learnt what I loved the most, age is just a number.
Who told you when you are 80 you can’t do a Salsa?
Now wasn’t that mind boggling??? Paddy you are a star. Watch the video guys and you will all be left thinking what is she made of – Determination I would say. Thanks to Hrithik Roshan (who happened to share this video in one of his tweet) that I got to watch such a wonderful positive woman. Cheers to Woman Power!!!

The Coveted Ratings
She sunk herself on the couch as she entered her apartment, thinking as if the long tiring day at work was not enough that she had to face the punishing traffic and the stupid rains.
Flipping through her phone for the FB updates and tweets something suddenly caught her attention.
She sat straight and realized today was the day, how could she have forgotten… the ratings for blogs were out and she was excited to see how her dear blog has fared. She quickly logged into the web address to check. Only to be shown
‘Error 404, Page Not Found’!
