I want to be Free

by Tina Basu

A day will come when I’ll open my wings
A day when I’ll not listen to a single thing.
I have had enough, enough of sorrow
But I look forward for a better tomorrow.
All those things spoken between you and me
Sounds like a lie, like a ridicule to me
If you have thought I am a bird with broken wings
Then you will be sorry to see me break all strings.
I will fly away, one day, high above the blue sea
With wind beneath my wings, yes, I want to be free.
